About

Hello! My name is Dezerae, and I work from home as a content writer, but before that I worked as a private chef for families. Now, however, I use my passion for cooking to make amazing meals for my husband and me. What I want to do here is show you that you can make fantastic meals without a gourmet kitchen and without formal training. We live on a budget, and I have a tiny kitchen at the moment, so I do what I can with what I have, and I want you guys to be able to as well. You don’t need schooled training to make meals that will impress your friends and family. I am not anywhere near the best, and I will never claim to be. I do what I love for those that I love. It is my passion to cook for those that I love, and I want to extend my passion to you.

So it is with my passion, I also extend my recipes and the way that I cook. You will notice that all the seasoning that I put in a recipe is a starting point; after that you add to taste. Most of my seasoning isn’t measured by the end of it because tasting as you go is always going to be the best thing you can do over any measurement. That is how you truly make food that will make your heart sing. Cooking is not an exact science; it is something you do with your heart and soul.

 

My husband and I met in 2011 and became fast best friends, finally solidifying our relationship in 2016, and getting married in 2018. Late 2017, after having tried for a child for almost a year, I was diagnosed with Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and infertility. So we started removing a lot of crap from our diet, including most sugar choosing to replace with Erythritol or using sugars very moderately. We did live the Keto way of life for almost a year, and we found that specifically for our lifestyle, it won’t work for us. However, for those of you that it can work for, I urge you to do it. If done right and something you can sustain for you and/or your family, it will work.

Even with all my knowledge in the kitchen, I still learned many valuable things in the kitchen, so with the recipes I share, you will see a decent amount of Keto friendly recipes. If I can make something Keto friendly, I will put it in the tips at the bottom of the blog post. Truth be told and as terrible as it is, we don’t have the discipline to follow the Keto way of eating. We are human, and that is one of our faults. So instead, we will be limiting our carb intake for the most part and limiting sugars. I am, however, happy to help with Keto questions if you have them, and if you are really looking for a recipe or want help converting something, I would love to help and make it a blog post!

 

Everything I post here I have made for my home and have probably cooked more than once to get it just right. So I hope you enjoy everything that we enjoy, and I hope these recipes help you add variety to your meals.
